If you’re trying to wake Moxie up and Moxie is saying it is time to sleep, Moxie could either be taking a Scheduled Usage Break or Moxie could be in Bedtime Mode. Read below for more info on these features.
The Bedtime Mode feature is intended for parents to set controls on what times Moxie is able to be "awake" and interact with their child. If a child tries to interact with Moxie during the set Bedtime hours, Moxie will not engage in any activities and will insist on going back to sleep.
To make changes to this feature, go to the Moxie tab of the Moxie Robot App and select scheduling. Then click Bedtimes at the top.
This will open a screen explaining Bedtime Mode and scheduling options for school nights and weekend nights. To adjust the set times, click on the time you would like to change under School nights, Weekend nights, or both. If you would like to entirely turn off Bedtimes, click on the checkmark next to School nights, Weekend Nights, or both.
If your child is interacting with Moxie when Bedtime Mode starts, Moxie will explain that it is time to sleep and transition into standby mode.
Scheduled Usage Breaks
After completing all of the daily G.R.L. activities, Moxie will continue chatting for a bit but will then let the child know it is time for a short break and will go to sleep on its own. This is to help kids learn to take healthy breaks! If your child tries to wake Moxie up during the usage break, Moxie will insist on going back to sleep. After the 30 minutes is up, your child can wake Moxie up again to continue playing!
