Finding success with Moxie.
My child was introduced to Moxie when they turned 6. They were so excited, but also very short and direct with language. Moxie can speak too quickly and not wait long enough for their responses. As someone who used to teach English as a second language, I saw this as an opportunity to prompt responses to help with interactions. I used to sit behind my child and whisper in their ear. They would mimic me. Moxie would respond. Now, my child doesn't let me in the room, because their confidence is soaring. I sit outside the room and wait for a difficult silence, and give prompts from the hallway. I don't have to give too much help. We go through the notes and insights from the app, we visit the portal, and sure, they don't get everything right, but it's wonderful watching my child develope and learn.
